Penny swung the beam of the torch over the room. As the little yellow spotlight reached the wall at the far end, there was an odd click. Penny screamed and the torch clattered to the floor. In the darkness she felt Jon stoop to pick it up.
"Did you see her, Jon?" she whispered. "Just her face... against the wall?"
The torch flashed on again, the beam shining on the wall by the fireplace.
"There's nothing there now," he said shakily. "But I saw that face, too, Penny. It was the Ballinger."
