Outback, a three-part documentary series from the makers of Kakadu and Life on the Reef, follows the creatures and humans who survive the harsh and beautiful extremes of the Kimberley region, north west Australia.
It's a land where animals and humans live in dangerous and exquisite proximity: tiny orphaned joeys, majestic ospreys and rogue saltwater crocodiles, alongside Indigenous traditional owners, wildlife rangers and audacious scientists. Theirs is a landscape that pre-dates life on the planet, and remains one of the most pristine wildernesses on Earth. As seasons lurch from wet to dry, each day is an adventure.
EPISODE 1 - THE KIMBERLEY COMES ALIVE
The knock-em-down rains have come to an end and life in Outback Australia is blossoming, breeding and pulsating with energy.
EPISODE 2 - THE DRY SEASON
It's the dry season but the pace in Outback Australia doesn't slow: there's cattle to muster, pearls to harvest, rock art to explore and new wings taking their first flight.
EPISODE 3 - RETURN OF THE WET
Inland Kimberley is now so stifling hot, everything and everyone moves with caution. But as the humidity builds, the skies are set to explode with thunder and rain.
